"They said 'well whose going to do their hair?' So it kind of started from there. "If you can't give back then you won't receive," believes hairstylist, Melinda Petty, from Amory. "You have to give it away to get it back. It's a gift from God what we have to be able to share this with these girls."

Smithville senior Marissa Pitts says she didn't expect to even have a prom after what their town has gone through over the past ten days.
 
"This prom wouldn't have been this important to us if none of this would've happened," Pitts believes. "I'm so upset about it happening, but it's brought our community together in so many ways and its shown that people do care."

An emotional time for those giving and the ones receiving.
